give me everything tonight

attempting to make myself presentable
(forewarning: i am writing the start/majority of this blog a day early because it's my christmas meal/party tonight and i know that i'll be home late/in a rush and won't have time to give you the quality you all deserve so there'll be a few tweaks and such maybe later/tomorrow depending on the shitstate i come home in) HI it's my christmas party tonight and i'm getting dressed up all smart to go and drink fuck tonnes of wine which is exciting and terrifying in equal measure.

if you're the only thing i ever get for christmas

ready steady go
okay so my pity party hasn't finished just yet and i'm back to work tomorrow so what better way to force yourself out of a funk than by spending 5 hours wrapping presents, writing cards and watching christmas films. it's been a weird weekend all in all but maybe today was what i needed to pick me up. i don't feel particularly uplifted right now but it's helped me to realise that a) i still love buying things (for other people) and b) home alone and elf are classics.

you're taking over the beat of my body

eternally relevant
hello, how are you? take a minute to really about that before you answer. i don't ask you guys enough about you - it's become a very mitchgcole-centred world over here at this particular blog and that's something i want to change, especially coming up to christmas. i want to turn it around and look at the bigger picture, rather than the day i've had or the things i've done. i'm craving some interaction, some feedback, some reassurance, some constructive criticism, some inspiration and you can give me that.

we are the sparks that never fade

maybe i do like girls after all
there's some things in life you've got to laugh at otherwise you'd cry. the sort of things like how tragically sly and petty some people are; poorly made decisions which a child could've judged better; the daily happenings in the life of a depressed, borderline ocd riddled bipolar 23 year old gay man. to tune it all out, there's always music. so today, after a never-ending shift, i ended up falling asleep on the bus and taking a great big fucking tour around bristol subconsciously listening to, yes you guessed it, gabrielle aplin.

there's polyphonic voices in my head again

this isn't a dick pic
i was going to title this blog "i saw superman fly away" in honour of old taylor swift and also the fact that i dressed as superman for children in need today. but then i went to a kate boy gig and they blew the fucking roof off so this one is solely for them. i've mentioned them before on the blog and was buzzing for this gig. it cost me £7.50 and in the end, after an indirect tweet, they put me on the guestlist so i sped to the fleece and caught them just in time.

but i like the way i feel inside

THROWBACK TUESDAY?
talk about a terrible tuesday CHRIST ALIVE i feel like i'm just about ready to tear (what's left of) my hair out. it's been 0% fun and 100% stressful but maybe that's helping to make these nerds taste even sweeter than they already are. i'm just keen to lie down (on a sunbed), have a glass of wine (even though i'm not drinking), watch something light (even though messy horror films are my forte) and have a tiny little, winter warming cuddle (boyfriend applications graciously accepted)

take my breath and never let it go

this is called a "champion bouquet"!!
yeah maybe your long distance boyfriend is sending you flowers but my saint of a mother bought me my very own bouquet today so i think we know who's won this round, don't we? it's been a funny old day - long and exhausting - but not a bad one. not by a long shot. but that doesn't mean i'm prepped and ready to churn out 1000 words on what to do when you're feeling like you want to cut all of your hair off. instead, i'm here today to tell you about a song i think is really good. and that's all.

i put some new shoes on and suddenly everything's right

happy moving out day alice xo
today, i'm not going to talk about how astronomically awful work was. i'm going to focus on the good things because that's what should be important. know what makes a lot of people happy (myself included)? buying things. stupid things. things we'll never need or use or look at again. but having something new to call your own is as exciting as it is affirming. know what else brings joy? music. so let's talk about those two things tonight. it's easy and it's probably boring but forget the haters 'cuz somebody loves ya.
