it starts with a picture and it sits in your frame

statement pink but that's okay
having my picture taken is not my favourite thing in the world. in fact, it's probably near the bottom of "my favourites" list - i know i look bad most of the time, i don't need a photo to immortalise it. but that's not to say i hate photos. i fucking love them. that one tiny image can hold a million memories that come flooding back. sometimes it's heartbreaking (smash cut to me at 3am, stalking my ex boyfriend) but sometimes it's really really lovely. and that's exactly what i aimed for when i bought my polagram box. it arrived today and, honestly, it's made my week already.

you can read all about the hows and whats of a polagram order just here but we're going to look at "what the fuck is that like?" today. and there's a few thing i want to talk about because they're really good.

36 reasons to be happy
firstly, this polagram box. it's out of this world. £13 for 36 photos of your choice (of course i chose overtly edited, beautiful instagram pictures that documented the last few months of my life) so i was a trifle sceptical concerning their quality. well, they're divine. proper photo paper, glossy finish, looks like a genuine polaroid. the images are crystal clear and faultless, the little box they arrived in is wonderful and it even included a little "do it yourself" origami penguin saying "i love you" on it. seriously, it's like they know me. 10/10, well done everyone.

EDIT: completely forgot to mention but if you're interested in polagram prints (and come on, why wouldn't you be?) you can whack in my code which is: PGPUFY2N and it'll give you money off your order! i do this because i love you.

say hello to all the cavities
next, it's this lemonade. you've got to appreciate the finer things in life and, ultimately, this is a finer thing. i never opt for sugar-laden drinks (a fear of ruining my already poorly kept teeth means i choose the life-threatening aspartame riddled diet versions instead) but threw caution to the wind today in favour of this baby. i love rose and i love lemonade so this seemed like a match made in heaven and that's exactly what it turned out to be. it's sweet but not too sweet, rosy but not too rosy. the little glass bottle it comes in is the icing on the cake. it makes me want to make my own "rose lemonade" stand like i'm a poor american child. a man can dream. 9/10, hats off to fentiman's.

i guess this is more a "what the fuck are you reading?" but i'm already half way finished so i can tell you a bit about what the fuck it's like.

can always rely on our chuck
churning through 500 pages of "the shining" was as daunting as it was exciting but right now, the thought of something i can blitz in a week's worth of lunch breaks is doing it for me. "fight club" is just over 200 pages and reads like a dream. annoyingly, i let myself watch the film (...8000 times) before reading the book so i know what's happening in regards to the big twist and i can't get rid of brad pitt's image (what's new there?) all the same, there's a lot more detail in the book of course and several things which never happened in the film at all. it's dark, funny, captivating, disturbing and, overall, wonderfully written. 9/10, another success chuck.

lastly, we'll have an overdue "what the fuck is that song?" and i've cheated today because it's a whole album. a short one though so give me a break. pentatonix are this wonderful acapella group that won some kind of american singing contest a few years back and have released several EPs. they released their third one today (maybe it was today, spotify lies a lot at the moment), spectacularly titled "PTX vol. 3" and it's very very good. several covers, some new songs and one spellbinding sam smith homage. give it a go. what have you got to lose? (don't say three minutes of your life just gtfo) xo
