a little loving like valium

zooey deschanel and tyler oakley
did you know that a group of toads is called a "knot"? now that i've got your attention, we can talk about something more interesting like flowers or music. either way, it's late again (sorry) and i'm really fucking chuffed this week is finally over. granted, i've not been paid yet so my outgoings will have to worry me for another week but i feel genuinely excited that tomorrow is saturday. and you know what? today wasn't actually that bad at all.

it seems strange to have it two days running but "what the fuck are you so happy about?"

using these on my next letter
yesterday somebody wrote to me and today somebody messaged me on facebook. an old acquaintance, we're talking 6 years ago, sent a message out of the blue to say how much she likes this blog. she didn't want to seem like a stalker (and it's fine if she is) but she wanted to share how much she enjoyed it. and that in itself is a wonderful thing about today already. so thank you ms orchard, i hope this little shout out puts a smile on your face like you put this one on mine.

edited to capture the "vibez"
there was something else? I REMEMBER NOW. way back in 2013/early 2014, i bought two tickets to see katy b. one for me and one for my beau at the time. turns out, he took a shit on my heart (granted, through no real fault on his own but the metaphorical poo is still there) before i gave him the ticket. so, rather hastily, the date crept up and i asked my favourite if she'd come along and she did. we might not be the biggest katy b fans going but the gig was really good - we had a little vip balcony area, it was fucking rammed with dancing dads & pilled up teens and our kathleen absolutely nailed it. a nice end to a hectic week.

JOY
also, my boss (who somehow manages to be my boss and my friend which is something nobody has ever accomplished) bought everyone in the room sunflowers because it's been a tough week coming up to parents evening. getting flowers is lovely, regardless of the reason. unless someone's dead, then it's just sad. but sunflowers are so happy and pretty and lovely and, well, sunny. they sum up my boss pretty well and it's little things like this that she does which make me so grateful to have a supportive team at work. this one's for you guys xo
