i hate pink but i love this |
it's called "polagram" but "what the fuck is that like?"...it's amazing,
long story short, you select your favourite photos from your camera/instagram/the internet and upload them to the app. you can add edits or captions and choose a style of photo. then you pay (we'll come to this later) and once your order is processed, you're sent your photos in the post. i know you could do this at boots or with a swanky computer but i, much like thousands of others, am very lazy and this app bodes well with sloth like bastards.
the sweetest present ever |
i've used the giftbox because these 36 pictures document the last few months of my life. as you'll know, because i don't shut up about it, it's been tumultuous but these photos are full of love, happiness, comedy, memories and joy. all in all, it came to £13 including postage. a small price to pay for something so important. i only finalised my order yesterday so i'm waiting on postage. this could be the app's downfall but i'm in no rush to receive them and it cost less than £2 to send all 36 and a box so let's look at the positives here, you know?
i would recommend polagram to everyone. i think the single prints work out at 29p each, a lot less than keeping up with polaroid film or printer ink, and the giftboxes or photobooks would be such lovely presents. it's very hipster without the effort - having polaroids without owning a camera but right now, what with my bank balance and lack of photography skills, i'm okay with that. it's free on the app store right now.
is there a song today? yes of course. but "what the fuck is that song?"
banks' debut album, "goddess", came out last week and it was as amazing as i'd hoped it would be. she's this wonderfully dark and dreary american "pop" star. it's like weird anti-pop with loads of electro and r'n'b elements in it. very 2014. but it's also really fucking good. she released plenty of music before her debut album and the tasters got a lot of people interested in her. the album, full of melancholy and amazingness, is well balanced and quite accessible. a personal favourite is "under the table", a piano led slow jam which swells with strings and shows a different side to our jillian. it's very tender and touching, out of the girl's comfort zone but that works entirely in her favour.
