what's in the box? |
last time we checked in i was fangirling over how amazing chuck palahniuk and stephen king are. i'm still firmly in that minset (/lifelong decision) and it's only grown now that i've finished another CP masterpiece. i raced through the pages of "survivor", chuck's second novel, normally hidden under an umbrella, thriving in my own little fort. FORT, with an "o".
so we'll have a quick "what the fuck is that like?" shall we?

*insert destiny's child pun here* |
very good. very palahniuk and very twisted which makes for a very good read. long story short, the narrator is the last surviving member of a religious cult that all committed suicide. he winds up becoming a celebrity and the media completely manipulate him and it all goes to shit when he gets framed for murder and all sorts. it's written backwards which sounds confusing but it's refreshing and works surprisingly well in the end.
so now, for the bigger picture. remember the box from the start of this post? i bet you're still wondering "what the fuck is that?"
well, it's a magical little item from primark (where else?) and it's made to look like a book but it opens like a box?! HERESY I KNOW. anyway, because it's affiliated with literacy, i wrote all the titles of the books i'm yet to read and folded them up inside. when it comes to choosing a book, i let fate, or chance, play its part. this idea comes from a favourite lady of mine who i talk about a lot because she's ideal. big shout out to loz.

told you it was anticlimactic |
why not try something similar? or better yet, fill a box/jar with nice things to do like calling an old friend or giving something to charity? make your boyfriend a meal or buy your mum some flowers? that'll be nice for everyone involved.
if you guys didn't believe me when i said i've got a bit of a charity shop book buying problem, then here's a picture of the thousands of pages i haven't read but managed to gather in record timing. oh, mitch please. "what the fuck have you bought?" seriously though:

sorry NOT SORRY |
also, i'm taking these 30 seconds to tell you to listen to ariana grande's new album because it's called "my everything" and it quite literally already is my everything.
so "what the fuck is that like?" it's amazing.
