or am i just hungover you?

these are some of my mates
as you'll know from reading yesterday's scatty post, it was my friend's 30th birthday and i turned up in an outfit that spanned several eras, none of them compliant with the dress theme. all the same, i battled through my social anxiety (no thanks to my doctor who refused to prescribe me any more meds IT'S CHRISTMAS AND I DON'T WANT TO FEEL PANICKED) and danced to rock and roll in a bar full of people, 15% of whom i knew. and you know what? it was really good.

tell us more "what the fuck is that like?"

it's been the best part of six months since i touched alcohol so you know what? i went out with the intention of getting twatted - and i did exactly that. no easing back into the alcohol, go hard or go home. wine, jagerbombs, rum, malibu, tequila: i had it all. i expected to a) spend all of my money and b) break down and cry about life because, before now, those were my go to things. but i did neither and actually coped well. the evening was lovely and encapsulated all the positives of a drunk night out that i've missed so much. the hangover sensation is bittersweet and has made an unwelcome return but i expected it to be 30x as bad. here's to booze!

"what the fuck is that song?"

popjustice posted something about thomston the other day. i don't remember much but i know he's 19, london born, new zealand raised and is on the same label as lorde. also, he's really good. he has this weird silky voice which i can't get enough of and his music is somewhere between james blake and banks which bodes well for people who like amazing r&b electronic darkpop. not sure if he's really new or just doing things slowly but there's not much of him about at the moment: some bedroom demos and a 5 song ep that came out in the summer. i reckon he'll get a big push next year so keep your eyes peeled. here's "anaesthetic" which acts as a perfect introduction to another talented teenager who's winning at life whilst you're eating cold kfc from a bowl xo
