today is where your book begins

let's do this
i'm keen to get in and get out tonight just because i've spent all day flapping over everything and don't want this blog to become a flappy place. we're looking at dedication, motivation and direction today: three things which i'm certainly lacking in. i don't have a quick fix (does anybody?) but there's one thing which i'm more than determined to try again and that is "nanowrimo". never heard of it? don't worry, neither had i until a year ago and look at us now.

rip that plaster off "what the fuck are you on about?"

"nanowrimo" is a clever little series of abbreviations and it stands "national novel writing month". see, makes a lot more sense now doesn't it? there's a whole chunk of the internet dedicated to helping those people who feel they've got a story to tell. you've got a month (all of november) to write 50000 words which sounds terrifying and, well, it is. i tried it last year, got a few thousand in and gave up entirely. this year, seeing as i have no direction or hobby other than attempting to entertain you diamonds on this here blog, i want to give it a real bash. i've got a solid idea of what i want to write and i guess telling you guys means there's a whole other spectrum of people to let down rather than just myself. i'll probably end up breaking down again after hitting my fifteenth plot hole but fingers crossed for success eh?

if you're keen to try and write something, give it a try. there's no pressure whatsoever: it's meant to just be a bit of fun. there's a website right here along with a twitter and the following is now so big that they organise real life "write ins" at local venues across the world. there's reams of forums dedicated to motivational talks, writing tips and so much more. this is my little slither of desperation so please join me - dive in, the water's warm but terrifyingly deep.

& now "what the fuck are you so happy about?"

thank you VERY much
look what arrived this morning!!!!!! she's signed it and all. only cost me a tenner which i think is very reasonable seeing as a) it's the deluxe version and b) it's a spectacular album. i'm praying she beats out the jessie's to #1 and a little part of me thinks that she stands a real chance. cornish might have been around for ages and have an alright following but she's a bit of a prick and a lot of her music is dross. ware is a babe, a bit older than the other two, and i think she'd be happy wherever she charts. she's done the whole fantastic debut thing already so give hendo her 15 minutes, you know? thanks honies xo
