everybody needs a tiny grater |
let's get one thing straight - charity shops are amazing. there's a massive variety of things inside, suited to just about everybody, you're giving money to a just cause and, if we're getting emotional here, there's so much history too. the items that have been handed down through the years, toys that shaped childhoods, stories that changed lives, clothes that have been lived in on the other side of the world. it's maybe too sentimental to think of these things whilst you're charity shopping but it's lovely all the same.
i'm not such a fan of the clothes. don't get me wrong, there's some gems in there but i am a tiny little man and it's rare to find anything that even nearly fits me. coming out with three books and some candles counts as a massive success for me. they're so much cheaper than amazon bargains and the aforementioned sentimentality is joyous. imagine finding a personal message in your book. or just thinking about the people that have read those pages before, they've been lost in those words the same as you. bliss.
anyway, too cheesy. "what the fuck have you bought?" is on today's agenda.
maybe i'll fill these with money or confetti |
i bought two shit things today and i love them both in equal measure. the first is a set of mini bowls. what am i going to use them for? buggered if i know. maybe throw me some suggestions guys? they were £1 and looked dreamy in their little box and bow. i adore buying little homey things because it's gets me all excited to move out again and start decorating my new nest #adulthood.
numero deux is maybe the best thing i've seen in my local charity shop for a long time. it's a fucking mini cheese grater. A MINI CHEESE GRATER. i like to think of tiny little mice using it when really it's for chocolate or ginger but we'll glaze over that. i might give it to someone as a tiny present but then again i'm just as likely to keep it for myself and never use it because why not? but really, look at it in all its edited glory.
HOW CUTE THOUGH? |
i am a firm supporter of charity shops and i hope you are too. there's some absolute shite in them, of course there is, but there's also so much magic, quality and potential. it's for a good cause too. what else do you want? pipe down at the back.
