show me what you got

SKULLS also from japan
it's been a "while" since i bought stupidly pointless things and so talking about that is definitely overdue. ebay has been my friend recently and after years of neglecting it, i'm quite content to be back in the driver's seat of my own bankruptcy. amazon is one thing but the bargains that lie hidden in the dark and dreary depths of ebay are something special and that excitement/crippling fear/life threatening fury when you're bidding on shoes that are too small is wonderful.

let's get down to the nitty gritty. "what the fuck have you bought?"

thanks japan!
a while back, i ordered a phone case that looked like it was melting. it came from japan and so i was pretty peeved when a month later it turned up in pink and green instead of, DRUM ROLL PLEASE, black and white. i couldn't be arsed to send it back, it would've cost more than buying the fucking thing, so i swallowed my pride and waltzed around with that garish thing for a while. cut to, me seeing a nicer monochrome version of the aforementioned case for £2. from japan again, it turned up in three weeks, this time with a complimentary screen protector, cloth and touch screen pen. just because.
ebay - 1. amazon - 0.

my new favourite stationary
if you knew me during my three year stint at whsmith, you would know i took great pride in being the emporer of stationary. still to this day, i bloody love the stuff so i was heartbroken when i went to hobbycraft and paperchase in search of washi tape. it's really thin colourful masking tape and it's amazing. neither shop had any. so i took to ebay, found a japanese supplier, sent them a small amount of e-pounds and they turned up today, better late than never. amazon prices and delivery were extortionate for this kind of thing so it's looking like ebay - 2. amazon - diddly squat.

more sad news now though as we briefly touch on "what the fuck are you on about?"

scrolling through my phone, bleary eyed, this morning i saw a retweet on my timeline about GRL. i paid it little attention initially but then i saw another so i went on a little twitter hunt. a twunt? that sounds crude, sorry. it took me all of 30 seconds to find that, rather tragically, simone battle of the girl group has been confirmed dead today. she was 25. there's no news on the cause of death but that's besides the point - another celebrity gone and this time so young. GRL aren't that well known, i'm pretty sure they're about to be sold as the next big girlband in the states but it doesn't make this news any less upsetting. my thoughts (no redundant prayers, soz) go out to her family and friends.

"what the fuck is that song?"

rather fittingly, it's "ugly heart" by GRL. this has been my jam for a long time and because the UK is gifted new music aeons after the rest of the world, this song is very fresh on these shores. dubbed "the pussycat dolls V2", i've no doubt GRL have almost entirely no say in the things they do or the songs they sing (hence a feature on a pitbull song) but that's not to they're not producing good quality pop. because ugly heart is an absolute stormer of a pop song. i mean THAT CHORUS. rip simone xo
